Eczema is a common skin problem. When certain skin conditions combine they make the skin red, itchy and irritated. Sometimes skin can develop small, bumps filled with fluid. There are many types of eczema out of them ATOPIC is the most common one. Acne is the most known skin problem to all of us which one develops specially in teenage due to hormonal changes or otherwise when the skin pores gets clogged.

Eczema is a skin condition, which can be developed by a new soap's reaction on your skin with an itchy rash on it. Eczema is a kind of skin allergy, which has no exact cause. Doctors don't know why it affects some people but it can affect a person because of the different immune system a person has.

Eczema is not contagious like cough and cold or like many other allergies. But it's inherited and runs through the genes. People who suffer with eczema have many other allergies with it like asthma, fever, cough and cold. Some have allergies with certain dairy products or eatable colors in the food, some are allergic to dust, eggs, wheat products and some other foods or fruits. This situation makes the eczema worse in them to tackle. People with sensitive and dry skin are more prone to get eczema. But mistaking dry skin rashes as eczema is different. They are not the same conditions. Dry skin can be cured but eczema cannot be cure it can be only controlled.

Eczema can become worse with the usage of certain heavily perfumed soaps, shampoos or cream and moisturizers. Synthetic clothes might not suit the person suffering from eczema; they can only make the condition worsen. So people who have this problem should be careful about such things and should wear cotton clothes. They should use only medicated and smell free products on their skin.

Symptoms of eczema: first sign of eczema is this that the skin turns red and starts feeling hot and itchy. If the skin is scratched then the situation becomes worse and it starts getting blisters. Symptoms are different from person to person. Some people get scaly patches on the skin and the skin turns ugly if scratched.

Different types of eczema: eczema is of many types with different types of appearance and effects on the skin.

  • Eczema, which affects the skin with the usage of perfumed soaps and lotions, is the most common one and is known as irritant eczema. People who work in such a situation where they have to wash their hands or feet many times in a day get this type of eczema. People working as cleaners, bartenders or health care workers are prone to this eczema. Because they have to wash their hands with soap every now and then and the hands don't dry completely before they have to be washed again. Wearing disposable gloves can be a protection but certain jobs require such instant help that wearing and throwing the gloved every other second is not possible. Doctors prescribe creams or lotions for this eczema, which has to be applied several times in a day on the affected area of the skin.
  • Seborrheic dermatitis is another form of eczema, which is a rash. It is inherited and is carried forward in your genes so without having any external factor you can get these rashes because of your genes. This eczema is very common in newborn kids. Patients with Parkinson's disease too tend to get this eczema, this eczema appears on the skin flat and non itchy and hits the area where there is more secretion of sebum the body oil as it starts from the sides of nose and then expands to cheeks, chin, eyebrows and behind the ears. To keep the problem under control never use perfumed soaps and shampoos. Always apply medicated soaps and solutions on your skin. Seek medical help rather than experimenting with your skin, which can make the situation out of control.

Usually oral medication too is given along with the gels and solutions to be applied on the skin but nothing can cure it permanently. One can just keep the situation under control but taking a little precaution can prevent you from this irritating skin problem.

Following such tips can help you in keeping the eczema away:

  • Use fragrance free products on your skin as soaps, creams and moisturizer, which have no fragrance in them. Petroleum jelly is quite useful in protecting this skin from getting irritably red.
  • Never scratch the itch or you will worsen the situation. Skin can start bleeding and get more time to heal because you can put bacteria to it with your nails and hands.
  • Do not wear synthetic clothes rather choose cotton to wear?
  • Always take and apply your medicines as prescribed by the doctor.
  • Changed weather condition makes the condition worse at times. Do not take unnecessary tension and alter your medication as per the changed weather.
