Snoring occurs when there is a shaking of your soft palate (it is the back part of the top of your mouth). The muscles supporting the opening of the higher airway in the reverse of the throat relax during sleep. Additional tissue in the palate and uvula, the thickset piece between the tonsils-vibrates with each breath, and these vibrations really cause the sound of snoring. In few people, the airway has a capability to close at any point. Narrowing of the airway will cause disorder and the noises of snoring.
Snoring Causes
Force tone of the tongue
During sleep the muscle tone in your tongue and soft palate tends to reduce. They become more relaxed and can crumple together. This directs to snoring. Other soft tissues, such as tonsils and tongue, can create sounds that add to or change the value of the snoring. The place of the sleeper affects the quantity of snoring. Lying on your back allows your tongue to fall back toward your throat and obstruct your airway; so you are more probable to snore when you are lying on your back.
Obstruction of airway
Anything that obstructs your airway will also give to snoring. For example, you are more likely to snore if you have large adenoids or a large tongue or if your nasal routes are puffed-up from a cold or allergies. Enlarged tonsils and adenoids are the main cause of snoring especially in children.
Age and other factors
Age is also another cause. Older people tend to snore more because muscle tone tends to diminish with age. Other factors also make worse snoring like alcoholic beverages, certain medicines, and sheer physical exhaustion may be linked with heavy snoring.

Lose weight
Preserve a usual weight - Losing weight can deeply reduce or even end snoring and likely obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Suitable diet and exercise to losing weight.
Avoid smoking
Smoking can cause amplified nasal congestion and mucous in the throat area. Breathing through the nose is more effective way to bring air into the lungs than mouth breathing.
Decrease alcohol intake
Alcohol can cause relaxation in the soft tissues and muscles in the throat. This may cause snoring or sleep apnea.
